Project Location

The Sunrise River Energy Station is proposed to be located on an approximately 40 acre parcel in Lent Township.  The site has direct or nearby access to all of the major infrastructure required for operation of the Sunrise River Energy Station. 

• Adjacent to the existing Chisago County high-voltage substation to interconnect with the electric transmission system;
• Close proximity to two interstate natural gas pipelines to access natural gas, the primary fuel for the Sunrise River Energy Station;

• Close proximity to two wastewater treatment plants to access treated effluent, the sole source of water for generation purposes.
