Economic Benefits
The construction and
operation of the Sunrise River Energy Station will have a positive
impact on the local and regional economy. This includes:

Creating local
employment opportunities in Chisago County

Hundreds of construction workers during a 2-year construction period
-
Up to 25
permanent, professional staff with an annual payroll of
approximately $3 million
-
Providing substantial
tax revenues to local and state taxing districts
- Contributing $320,000
annually to the following County Funds:
- Neighborhood
Enhancement
- Environmental
Improvement
- Library System
- Contributing $100,000
annually to a North Branch School Partners Fund
- Contributing $100,000
annually to Lent Township Operations Fund
- One-time contributions
as described below:
- $200,000 to a
County Communication Equipment Fund
- $75,000 to the City
of Lindstrom and Amelund Township for fire-fighting
equipment.
- Up to $250,000
toward the construction of certain road improvements
